PETREA SWEENY IS A DESIGNER BASED IN NORTHERN VERMONT + NEW YORK. SHE RECEIVED HER MASTERS OF ARCHITECTURE FROM CORNELL UNIVERSITY AND HAS WORKED WITH FIRMS IN NEW YORK CITY, THE HUDSON VALLEY AND BURLINGTON, VT. HER PROJECTS FOCUS ON THE INTERSECTION OF LANDSCAPE AND ARCHITECTURE –– PARTICULARLY UPON SITES OF IMMANENT AND DRASTIC CHANGE.
STUDIES OF ECOLOGY, TIME, AND THE EVOLVING RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN ARCHITECTURE AND GROUND ARE INFLUENTIAL TO BOTH HER SPECULATIVE AND PROFESSIONAL PRACTICE.

SHE IS CURRENTLY WORKING AT PSA STUDIOS AND ASSISTING THE ARCHITECTURAL STUDIES THESIS PROGRAM AT MIDDLEBURY COLLEGE WHERE SHE HAS BEEN A GUEST CRITIC AND SPEAKER. PETREA HAS CO-TAUGHT SUMMER STUDIO PROGRAMS AT BOTH CORNELL A.A.P + NORWICH UNIVERSITY.
